Welcome
Brace yourself—at first, you may not totally understand what I do. That’s because this company is unlike any other in its field. Basically, I do two things:
- Create digital content like photography, writing, films, etc.
- Tell you how to sell content in the Digital Age.
Is there some sort of piracy consultant for filmmakers? In fact, yes—I am that consultant.
As a filmmaker, I’ve spent over three years examining business models in publishing, filmmaking, music, and computer software to understand the true motives behind piracy. I’ve pinpointed business models which have adapted well to an age when digital content can be copied ad infinitum. Research has pointed me to some unexpected conclusions and now, with the assistance of a few close confidantes, I’m offering the benefit of my research to you. Whatever I can offer to you free of charge, I will. This is, in fact, the idea behind infinite distribution: instead of locking up digital content as if it were scarce, we let it roam freely to increase the value of truly valuable scarcities.
Because this company’s ethos is so different from other companies, I often enjoy discussing my daily insights and the basic concepts in play: I maintain a blog here on this web site, a podcast, I moderate a panel on Twitter, the site will offer free downloads, too. If you’re new to this site, there’s a FAQ and a little background on me in the About section. As a writer and filmmaker, I’m also producing a film using the same principles I espouse.
If you have a project and have no idea what to do about piracy, I do one-on-one consultations. Unfortunately, because consulting takes time—which is a non-renewable resource—I must charge for that. However, I have a sliding scale and won’t accept payment if your project isn’t a success because of my consultation. Please contact me for more information.
If you want to talk with others who share similar ideas, I’ll be setting up a forum as well, so stay tuned by subscribing via email or RSS. In the meantime, check out my News page to keep abreast of what ∞infdist is cooking up next!
